breaking the barrier of sorts

I am not very good at expressing myself, especially artistically or verbally. Artistically I suck (no, not being overly negative, I just suck) and I get so tongue tied when trying to speak, especially under pressure, as my brain is going at 500km/hr, and my tongue just can’t keep up. So I sound like I’m on permanent fast forward, and there is no pause button! I express myself through my writing, but some days even that just doesn’t do. I think a lot of us have suffered from the dreaded ‘writer’s block’ and I have most definitely been ‘suffering’ in recent months. In an effort to post anything, something, I tend to post utter rubbish, that leaves me with my head in my own hands at the disbelief that I actually pressed ‘Publish’.

As a mom and wife, like most, I wanted a family portrait. As I am a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal, hair in a messy ponytail with my contacts gathering dust and my glasses too far down my nose, I’m not exactly photographic material. So one day, earlier this year as my daughter was painting in our lounge, I came up with a brilliant idea (well I at least thought that it was ;)) for a family portrait.

Talk about thinking outside of the box, breaking barriers. That’ll do just fine, thank-you very much 🙂
