Are writing prompts a useful exercise, or do you find them to be too limiting and/or hokey?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us SNEAKY.
I am personally finding the Daily Prompt challenges fantastic. I love to write, to tell stories, but sometimes the brain runs dry, and I sit here with my blog open, and my fingers on the keyboard, and that’s about it. Most of the time I end up typing a whole bunch of crap, delete 98% of it, retype it, and then post it. And then I read what I’ve just posted and I’m like “did I really just post this? Yes, yes I did.” Sigh.Sneakiness is falling asleep at the dinner table because a) you are actually tired, and b) you just do not want to eat your vegetables, so falling asleep is the next best thing. And of course, you time it perfectly, just as mom turns her back for 5mins in the kitchen. And then mom stands there, just looking at you. And because mom just loves you too much, she lets your sneakiness go. Just this one time. Ok, it’s been more than one time. Sigh. Sneaky is managing to capture that perfect moment of serenity whilst at the botanical gardens with your daughter, whilst she’s running around like 17 Duracell bunnies all at once. It’s smiling that special smile to yourself knowing what you’ve accomplished in that moment, no matter how insignificant, or if no one else has noticed.
Sneaky is that kiss from your husband at 06h00 when you’re still dozing but he has to get up, and you feel him smile against your gentle smile.
