training for something, I think

I have started training again. Yup, my yoyo exercise of exercise continues. But at least this time around, it has lasted longer than 3 days. In fact, I’m in my 3rd week of semi-constant exercise. An oxymoron, I know.

There’s a 10km race next weekend, and I’m determined to better my time from last year. Last year I completed the race in 01:15:17, and this year my goal is to complete the race in 1hr. So far so good, however my body does seem to be fighting me with regards to sore knees and ankles… I was however able to run a comfortable 4km yesterday without too much huffing and puffing, so there is hope for me yet.

What this training is doing, is paving the way for the Comrades Marathon 2014 (google it) as it has been a goal of mine for the last 13 years or so to complete the 87km road race at least once in my life. And by starting up my road running again, it has reignited my love for road running. Again. For about the 5th time…

End of the day, this is my goal, and I am the only one who has to power to fail or succeed.
