I love food. Actually, I love sweets and junk food, but I do really love food. The problem is, is that I tend to love all of the wrong foods…
We have a canteen at work, that not only makes whatever lunch you feel like having on that particular day, but that also stocks a wide variety of sweets, chocolates, crisps and soft drinks. Perfect for when you want to lose weight, or have finished all of your work and are bored, and so have nothing better to do than eat…
The other bonus about my work canteen is that you don’t have to pay for your goodies then and there; you can put it on your staff account and it will come off your salary at the end of the month! Please take note that I have the willpower and discipline of a 2 year old.
And, as my luck would have it, every time I decide to get a ‘goodie’ from the canteen, my boss sees me. It’s like a running joke between him and I, as 1 day at lunch time, I didn’t finish my veggies, as, well, they’re vegetables, and when I ordered a chocolate from the canteen, he intercepted it, and held it ransom because I didn’t finish my veggies! Ever since that day, he ‘busts me’ whenever I have junk food (that’s often, by the way). His office door looks straight to the door that links to the walkway door, that leads to the canteen, so each time I come that way, I quickly turn around and hide my goodies behind my back; this man doesn’t even look up from his computer – “BUSTED” he smirks at me.
I find it totally hilarious that he catches me every time I have sugar, yet not once has he seen me have a salad, or veggies, which yes I will admit is not often, but come on!!
So yes, due to my lack of willpower and discipline, my work canteen is most definitely out to get me.
